| Serbia is able to register websites with .rs domain extension, replacing the old .yu Priority for registering with the new domain will be given to those who already own .yu addresses, and will cost about RSD 2000 (about EUR 25). Internet experts warn that the price is too high and that companies will instead buy international .com or .net domains, which are much cheaper. Beotel, EUnet, Pakom, Sezam, Telekom, Verat, PTT and 17 other providers have received licenses to sell the new domains, starting from most probably January 2008. The price for converting .yu into .rs will be the same as for registering a new .rs domain – RSD 1500 (just under EUR 20) including VAT. All .yu domains will function for at least another two years, the length of time the transfer to .rs is expected to take, and the registration of .yu domains will be frozen as soon as .rs domains become available.
