EDMONTON - Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach may be heading for a legal showdown with a young blogger who bought the rights to the Internet domain edstelmach.ca. Dave Cournoyer, who is the host of a popular website called daveberta, paid $14 for the rights to the domain name last April. Anyone who logged onto edstelmach.ca was initially directed to the daveberta site, which generates about $20 per month in advertising revenue. Just before Christmas, Cournoyer got a letter from a Calgary law firm accusing him of misappropriating Stelmach's persona. The letter demands that the 24-year-old university student hand over a share of advertising revenues from his site and give the premier the rights to the domain name. The premier's office has declined comment, but Cournoyer says he doesn't take kindly to threats, and he plans to seek his own legal advice before taking any action. 责任编辑:米尊 |
